Head of Business Development
Matt Villacarte is a 20-year Google veteran who joined Sage in 2023 to return to his roots of building businesses. Over the last two decades, Matt built extensive strategic experience across YouTube, Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and Google Ads. Matt was a founding member of the Google Ads optimization team. He created the framework for ads testing best practices that is widely used throughout the industry. Structured ad deployment, A/B testing, and campaign development are all best practices that he helped to pioneer and teach over the last twenty years.
In addition to his work in ads, Matt is an accomplished business development and strategic partnerships executive. Joining the partnerships team at YouTube shortly after Google’s acquisition, he was responsible for closing crucial content licensing deals with independent creators and large media companies alike; relationships that ultimately enabled monetization on the platform. He later played critical roles on the teams which launched Google Surveys (now a part of Google Analytics) and News Consumer Insights, a toolkit and analytical framework that empowers web publishers with actionable insights.
In his free time, Matt enjoys time with his family and is also a seasoned DJ, songwriter/composer and producer. His music has been featured on major network television shows, commercials and is available on all streaming platforms under the moniker “DJ Pleez.”
